We are the only eating disorder informed fitness facility that I know of. We are the only safe fitness center for individuals looking for a space free of diets, weight loss stressors, toxic challenges, and/or triggering verbiage. We offer a scholarship to make our services accessible to as many people as possible, as well as providing virtual services to spread our support to people in recovery who may not be local to Decatur. While our bread and butter is supporting the fat positive, eating disorder recovery community, our intentional decisions about our physical space (smashed scale wall, non-scale victory wall, accessible equipment), team (diverse in age, race, body shape and size, gender, and ability), and company as a whole (social justice and mental health oriented) appeals to a wide range of individuals who desire an inclusive, positive, and supportive space to workout. We've created programs to encourage comfort and confidence for all people to feel safe in a gym - even those with negative and even traumatizing experiences in a fitness center. We envision a world where everyone truly believes they are enough in their bodies as they are. We aspire to have 100 Clarity Fitness franchise locations around the world, serving to make all fitness inclusive, welcoming, and positive. We want to positively impact the lives of 1 million eating disorder survivors, and make a lasting change to the fitness industry where people recognize that health is not dependent on weight loss.
